Pressure switches to receive an alert when pressure levels are high

Similar to pressure transducers, pressure switches are also designed to keep a check on the pressure which is imposed on applications. The sensing elements of pressure switches are configured in such a way that they can sense the pressure changes easily. A pressure switch is a must if you own an industrial plant where high pressure is required to run applications.

The functioning of pressure switches

Pressure switches are manufactured to monitor the pressure generated in applications during operations. They respond automatically when the pressure goes above the acceptable levels. The best thing about these switches is that they can monitor pressure related to the flow of fluids and electrical current. Pressure switches also have alarm systems which are activated due to extreme changes.

After informing the operators, even if the pressure is above safety levels then the pressure switches are programmed to break the electric socket. This way, they end the operation and protect the people who are working nearby. Different kinds of pressure switches are available these days and they vary on the basis of their technology, measurements and cost.

Out of all these pressure switches, differential pressure switches are commonly seen in industrial applications.

How differential pressure switches work

These switches are specially designed to convert the pressure imposed on two different applications into an electrical signal. These switches are connected to different applications for measuring the pressure levels. If the pressure of any one of these applications goes too high, these devices alert the operator.
