Pressure switches – sense pressure changes easily

Are you searching for devices to monitor extreme pressure levels? If your answer is yes, then pressure switches are perfect options for you. These switches are commonly used in industrial plants these days. This is because they send alerts to the operators when the pressure goes above safe levels.

Unlike pressure sensors, transmitters and transducers, pressure switches stop the operational procedure when the pressure is too high. They are also programmed to break electrical connections, if required. Nowadays, different types of pressure switches have been introduced onto the market. Two popular types of pressure switches are:

Differential pressure switches – These types of switches are specially manufactured to monitor the pressure which is imposed on two different units. This is why differential pressure switches are preferred by many operators. These devices are used to monitor the operation of snap action switches.

Mechanical pressure switches – These switches are available at lower prices and are used in different industrial applications. The main aim of mechanical pressure switches is to provide details about pressure changes to the operators.

If you have decided to buy any one of the pressure switches for your industrial applications then you must know about the different parts.

Various components of pressure switches

The most important part of pressure switches is a diaphragm which measures the pressure. You will also find a ring around the diaphragm. It protects the diaphragm from outside conditions. When the pressure levels go high, a pair of electrically conductive contacts activates and alerts the operators.
